E. Denby Brandon, Jr., CFP®, co-founded Brandon Investments in 1952 with his father, E. D. Brandon, Sr.

Denby, Jr., is one of the pioneers and leaders of the development of professional financial planning world-wide. In 2009, he co-authored “The History of Financial Planning: The Transformation of Financial Services.”

Denby, Jr., received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors in philosophy from Rhodes College in 1950. He did graduate work at Yale and Duke universities, receiving his Master of Arts Degree from Duke in 1952. He earned the Certified Financial Planner Degree from the College for Financial Planning of Denver Colorado in 1982.

He is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He was Chairman of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards from 1989-1990. He served on the initial CFP® Board of Standards from 1985-1990. In 1992, he was named the first Chairman of the Board of Affiliated Associations (Worldwide CFP® standard setting organization).

He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Diploma in Agency Management designations from the American College.

The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England, named him to the Director-General’s Honours List for his contributions to Global Professional Financial Planning. He is active in providing financial education programs for CFP® students.
